April Artist Demonstration – Jeff Wrench
The Agawam Community Artists and Artisans will feature artist Jeff Wrench as the guest demonstrator on April 8th.
Jeff Wrench creates colorful, expressionistic paintings on everyday surfaces such as sheets of wallpaper, paint chips, and brown paper bags. Stripped of rhetoric, his work focuses on one of the most common—yet most beautiful—subjects: the human face. His portraits and figure paintings celebrate what makes us human and find beauty in everyday life.
Jeff has been interested in drawing for as long as he can remember, but he did not attend art school or initially pursue art as a professional career. In 2013 he discovered a deep passion for painting portraits. By 2017 he made a life-changing decision—leaving his corporate career, selling his house, and moving into a small apartment in western Massachusetts so he could dedicate more time to painting.
Since then, Jeff has exhibited his work in both group and solo shows in Amherst and Northampton, Massachusetts, and his art has been featured in local magazines, newspapers, and television interviews.
Jeff currently works from his studio at the Indian Orchard Mills in Holyoke, Massachusetts.
