Support the Scholarship and win a a piece of art. The New England Mosaic The 2026 New England Mosaic is a 24-ft wall of art made up of 240 canvas “tiles”, created by the Pioneer Valley community. Many canvases were sold at the unveiling party that was held at the Agawam Municipal Golf course in August 2026. The New England Mosaic is launching its 2026 season Sponsored by the Agawam Community Artists and Artisans , this community-wide project invites participants from high school age and up to create a small 6” x 6” canvas that will become part of a stunning 24-foot collaborative Mosaic. Each canvas will be displayed together as one large work of art and later offered for sale at two special events in August. Net proceeds fund scholarships for Western Massachusetts high school and college students pursuing an education in the visual arts. 2026 Theme: “New England Treasures” Whether this is your very first canvas or you’re a seasoned artist, we welcome your creativity! Free canvases are available for pick-up at the following locations: Agawam Public Library West Springfield Public Library Westfield Athenaeum Southwick Public Library East Forest Park Branch Library East Longmeadow Public Library Longmeadow Adult Center Chicopee Public Library West Springfield Senior Center Details and guidelines are included with each canvas. Frequently asked questions What is the New England Mosaic? The New England Mosaic invites the Western Mass. creative community to create and display visual art representing a favorite aspect of New England. This year’s Mosaic theme is I Love New England. Donated artwork will help fund art scholarships for local students. The New England Mosaic invites you to create one individual canvas “tile,” which when displayed with others, becomes part of a 24’ fine art mosaic wall that captures the beauty and diversity of New England life. The New England Mosaic will be displayed at multiple venues and showcased at the Agawam Community Artists and Artisans’ Pioneer Valley Art Festival. How does the Mosaic work? How Does the Mosaic Work? Artists of all experience levels—professional, amateur, and creative community members—are invited to participate in this collaborative mosaic project. Step 1: Pick Up a Canvas Kit Participants may pick up one free 6” x 6” canvas kit at any participating town library beginning March 3, 2024. Each kit includes a canvas and an artist information sheet. Step 2: Create Your Artwork Artists are encouraged to express their creativity using acrylic, oil, fabric, or mixed media, provided that: All materials are securely adhered to the canvas The artwork is waterproofed The piece can be easily transported without damage Artwork may be representational or traditional, and must align with the 2025 theme: I Love New England. Step 3: Sign & Return Each canvas must be signed by the artist The completed artist information sheet must be included Finished artwork should be returned to the same library where the kit was picked up Participating Locations Canvas kits and artwork returns are available at the following locations: Agawam Public Library Chicopee Public Library East Longmeadow Public Library Longmeadow Public Library Southwick Public Library Westfield Public Library West Springfield Public Library West Springfield Senior Center How can I participate? Sign out a free canvas kit at any one of our library/ senior center partners. You just need to agree to complete and return it by May 15. Your donated art will then become one of the canvases in the final New England Mosaic wall of art. Please be sure to include your email address on your Artist Statement so we can notify you when/where the Mosaic sale will be happening. What happens to my canvas? Each individual canvas will be sold at Mosaic display venues and art festivals. Net proceeds from the sale of Mosaic canvases will fund art scholarships and other community art projects. Holiday Card Class 11/14/2026 Ann Abbey Price $30 Up Enroll Classes are Held at The Daily Grind 568 College Hwy, Southwick, MA. Saturday 10:30 - 1:30 Participants will make 3-dimensional 5"x7" holiday cards using watercolors, ink pens and glitter. Participants will create 3-dimensional 5"x 7" holiday card using watercolor paints, ink pens and glitter for that fun holiday touch! Please bring the following supplies Water color paints (can be provided if you don't have them). Colored ink pens (gold, silver, and black will be provided. Pioneer Valley Art Festival Presented by the Agawam Community Artists and Artisans (ACAA) Artist & Artisan Information: Participation Requirements Artists and artisans must be present both days of the Festival. Students may participate for free, but must provide their own tent and booth setup. Artists are responsible for returning any provided tables and chairs to the Hall at the close of the Festival. Categories We welcome original work in the following categories: Acrylic Watercolor Oil Mixed Media Sculpture Metal Art Photography Clay & Pottery Fiber Arts Jewelry Furniture Woodworking Glass Authors/Writers Fashion Artisan work must be: Original and handmade by the artisan Of professional quality Not permitted: Kits Food items Soap Candles AI-generated artwork Accepted: Prints and giclée's of original artwork. Artist Demonstrations This year we will feature a dedicated demonstration area for artists and artisans who wish to demonstrate their creative process. The demonstration area will be located on the Pavilion in front of the Mosaic. If you are interested in demonstrating your work, please indicate this on the registration form. Demonstrations are a great opportunity to attract visitors and showcase your techniques. Festival Setup: Friday – August 21 Setup begins: 10:00 AM Festival hours: 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM Saturday – August 22 No booth breakdowns before 4:00 PM Each exhibitor space will have a numbered sign corresponding with the Festival booklet. Display Requirements To maintain a consistent appearance: Artists located in the middle aisle of the Hall and the middle aisle of the Pavilion are asked to use black table coverings (cloth or black plastic). Security & Booth Sitting Security will be present Friday night. Booth sitters will be available during the Festival. Please see Festival volunteers at the Information Booth if assistance is needed. Parking: Loading & Unloading Easy loading and unloading is available. Artists in the Hall may use the two rear doors for convenient access. After unloading, please move your vehicle so parking near the Festival buildings remains available for guests. Parking is available: In the rear parking areas Near the main entrance of the lot Handicap Parking Several handicapped parking spaces are located near the Pavilion. Please leave these spaces available for guests who need them. Parking on the Grass Area Artists displaying near the logs in the parking lot area must move vehicles to the main parking lot after unloading for the safety of visitors and the Historical area. ATM An ATM is available at the entrance of the Hall for Festival guests. Photography Photos will be taken during the Festival for future promotional use.
