The New England Mosaic team invited the Western Mass. creative community to create and display visual art representing a favorite aspect of New England. This year’s Mosaic theme was I Love New England. Donated artwork will help fund art scholarships for local students.
The New England Mosaic will next be showcased at the Agawam Community Artists and Artisans’ Pioneer Valley Art Festival and Scantic River’s Art Festival.

Overview:
The New England Mosaic invites the Western Mass. creative community to create and display visual art representing a favorite aspect of New England. This year’s Mosaic theme is I Love New England. Donated artwork will help fund art scholarships for local students.
The New England Mosaic invites you to create one individual canvas “tile,” which when displayed with others, becomes part of a 24’ fine art mosaic wall that captures the beauty and diversity of New England life. The New England Mosaic will be displayed at multiple venues and showcased at the Agawam Community Artists and Artisans’ Pioneer Valley Art Festival and Scantic River’s Art Festival.
How does the Mosaic work?
Artists (professional, amateur, and any creative community members) are invited to pick up one free 6”x 6” canvas kit available at town libraries. CLICK HERE for a list of partner libraries where you can check out a kit. Kits will be made available beginning March 11, 2024. Each artist is to complete their canvas and return it to their local library. Art can be completed in acrylic, oil, fabric, or any media as long as all components are securely adhered to the canvas, are waterproofed, and can be easily transported without damage.
The art can be representational or traditional as long as it in keeping with the 2024 theme I Love New England.
All art is to be personalized with artist signature and the completed artist information sheet included in your canvas kit.
Check with your local town library to see if it is are participating in the Mosaic. Many partner libraries will also be sponsoring a Mosaic Workshop that you can attend. Library partners will have a maximum of 15 canvas kits available, so visit your library to get yours today!
How can I participate?
Sign out a free canvas kit at any one of our library partners. You just need to agree to complete and return it by May 15, 2024. Your donated art will then become one of the “tiles” in the final New England Mosaic wall of art.
Where can I see the finished Mosaic?
The 2024 Mosaic will be unveiled on July 11, 2024 at the Agawam Municipal Golf Course, 5-7 pm, 128 Southwick St. Feeding Hills, MA
Pioneer Valley Art Festival , August 24 & 25, at the Polish American Club, 139 Southwick St. Feeding Hills, MA
Scantic River Artisans Art Festival
What happens to my canvas?
Each individual canvas will be sold at Mosaic display venues and art festivals. Net proceeds from the sale of Mosaic canvases will fund art scholarships and other community art projects.
I’m not an artist so how can I participate?
Become a sponsor of the New England Mosaic and you will be sent a randomly selected canvas at the conclusion of the Mosaic as a “thank you” for any level of sponsorship and you will be acknowledged in our Festival program. Sponsor levels are: Individual: $25; Silver level: $50; Gold Level: $100. All sponsorships go directly to an art scholarship for local high school students.
